And in the lighting of intricate hands
There hides a friend.

And in the confusion of figures, papers, rewards
There hides a brother

And in fine distinctions
Delicate matters get stuck

And rain is needed, rain –
To soak the locks -
Heavy, flowing, malleable

Rain will soak the earth,
It will reach the roots, the core.
It will plunge to the heart
Of spreading trees.
Will hang over roofs,
Over skulls.
Inexhaustible

Спрятан друг

А в смешении чисел, бумаг, благ
Спрятан брат

А в ажурных перегородках
Дела застревают робкие

И нужен дождь, дождь -
Зам'ки размочить -
Тяжелые, литые, ковкие

Дождь польет землю,
До корней её дойдет, до центра.
Зацепится у сердца
Деревьев ветвистых.
Над крышами зависнет,
Над черепами.
